Here is a little-known tweak that you need to make to your WordPress blog. Close to the top of the header.php file (find this in Presentation ->Theme Editor) you will find some lines that start with <meta name=”description” content=” “and <meta name=”keywords” content=” “. These are important for your Search Engine Optimization efforts.
Fill in the area between the ” ” with a two or three sentence description of your site and the keyword phrase with as many keywords as you want, separated by commas. Make sure not to disturb any of the punctuation you see. When you are finished, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and press Save File.
The search engines will reward you for your efforts!
