Blogging and Trackbacks - Part 2
WordPress has really made it easier to do trackbacks in new versions. Scroll down after you write your post (but before you publish it) and find Trackback URL. You will see that it says to put in the trackback you want to send to - use the entire URL starting with http: and going all the way to the end with /trackback on the very end. This will make certain that your trackback goes where you want it to go. On the post you are writing about, you might see a clickable link named trackback. If you hover over that, right click, and say copy link location, you can simply paste it into the trackback field in your editor. Much easier than trying to key in a long URL with no typos! I'm using my new favorite blog again as an example. Go to Blogging For Boomers and scroll to the post called Boomer Roll Call. You will see my trackback posted in the comments section (as soon as it gets there and is approved).. WordPress just keeps making things easier and easier. The trouble is, there isn't a big handbook for you. That's where I hope I'll come in - I'll research the cool things you can do in WordPress and tell you all about them.« Blogging and Trackbacks | Home | The Wizard Talks About RSS »

I finally understand how to do this in WordPress. I have been using Typepad for two years and had trackbacks down cold over there. Thanks for explaining this in words I can understand.
