WordPress named Overall Best Open Source CMS Award in Open Source CMS Awards
Packet Pub: We are pleased to announce that WordPress has won the Overall Best Open Source CMS Award in the 2009 Open Source CMS Awards. WordPress has won this Award for the first time in the past four years, earning itself a place in the Hall of Fame category for the Award next year.
That WordPress deserves this award comes as no surprise to me. That they finally got it does surprise me. It seems that WordPress as a complete Content Management System is a well-kept secret.
I’ve been teaching it for a long time. In fact, when I started talking about using WordPress as your CMS, I wasn’t aware of anyone else who was talking about it. The WordPress Workshop shows students how to use WordPress as their complete content management system. What do I mean by complete? No more webmaster! With the easy to use WYSIWYG editor and some well-chosen plugins and your WordPress site on your own hosting account, you are ready to be in charge of your own marketing and present you and your products to the world.
Kudos to WordPress and kudos to Packet Pub for recognizing this outstanding platform!!
