Just found a really cool new plugin – it’s called Podcasting. It will play audio AND video on your WordPress blog. Here’s something I really like in the instructions:
The minimum requirements for using Podcasting are:
- WordPress Version 2.7 or higher
- Admin page requires a modern browser other than Internet Explorer (Emphasis mine)
This plugin puts up a simple audio player and a very nice video player.
It’s your choice if you want your media to go to ITunes or not – it will do it but you can leave that blank if you choose. I just tested it and it really seems good – no apparent conflicts and it has migration from PodPress capability. The PodPress folks fell down on the job or lost interest or lost ability. Don’t know which but now it doesn’t matter. This is a great replacement!
It has been tested and works with the newest WordPress version and has 4.5 starts at the WordPress Plugin repository.
Simply go to Plugins -> Add New in your dashboard and search for podcasting. Install it, configure it to your liking and you are ready to go. You won’t find it in your editor. It resides at the bottom of the editor. All you do it fill in the file location and add it. Then send it to the editor. All in all a nice and easy to use plugin!
