The Wizard's Love/Hate Relationship with Google

Google ChromeJust downloaded Chrome, Google's new browser.  If you know me at all, you know I preach about FireFox.  Well, Google might (I said MIGHT) have a convert.  Download it at  Google's Chrome page. It's a fast little thing, I'll give it that!  I'm doing this post in Chrome as we speak.  Go give it a try - you might like it.  As an added incentive, it imports all FireFox settings.  Doesn't have all my toolbars - yet.  If I can't get them, I won't use this.  If I can, I'll seriously think about it.

Wow! I still am trying to figure out the world of toolbars and firefox, etc. I'd like to know more about jumping right into the new browers Chrome. Is it better to wait a bit or just go for it?

Woo-Hoo!

Donna Marie - Better to wait - no extensions or plugins yet. They will be developed. Right now this is a plain vanilla browser but it sure has potential!

Article in my newspaper today said there are privacy issues, the sites we visit may have a record of our visit. Should I be concerned?

GOOD QUESTION! The official Google line is that Chrome will NOT talk to Google.com. Do we believe that? Don't know - yet.

I am proceeding with caution because there are no plugins or extensions for Chrome yet. There are several things I can't live without - RoboForm is just one of many!

Hey Cathy,
We agree with you, because without RoboForm, plugings & extensions we are missing lot of tools & features that we use everyday. Yes, Chrome is pretty, but not fully functional. But hey wait IE 8.0 is just around the corner :-)

WOW - I'm just holding my breath for IE8! Can't wait to see what all it will break on my system and how often it will crash! Thanks for the reminder. :(

Have you compared it to the flock browser? I'm loving flock but if Chrome compares, I may jump over. Google does some incredible things.

After getting so many viruses and trojans simply by surfing the web in IE, I'm glad to be a convert to Google Chrome. I've used FF but that was mainly for the SEO plugins and free fireftp. But Google is sleek, tabbing is quick and the interface is very usable. No useful plugins though so that's why FF is still around.

So far I have been using Chrome since its release. It is nice, but the lack of features makes it hard to use. With Mozilla Firefox you have all of the extensions in place to block ads.
