Just being on your list becomes an ongoing education. Your help has been vital as I begin my transition to all WordPress All the time (and blogs/websites).

Great work!
Be sure to watch to the end to see me 'fly' off the screen.
Thank you Cathy, the directions are so helpful and I didn’t know about this tweetlater service, so I was glad to find out and set it up.
Karlyn
Thanks for the video. This is the first time that I have heard about TweetLater. I will be sure to add this to my personal list of useful Twitter tools.
FYI. The problem listed above the video happens on the Mac using Firefox as well. I hope that helps.
Ash – Thanks for that – were you able to see it full size by clicking on the little arrow at the bottom?
[...] a recent blog post, Cathy also shared a great tool for Twitter – TweetLater. It looks like it can be very helpful – both for responding to new followers and for setting up [...]
Just a note: when you set up your TweetLater.com account, you do *not* need to set your TL username and password to be the same as your Twitter account’s. You’ll define each Twitter account separately within your TL account.
Thanks Don – You are exactly correct. I am going to re-record this video to make that change. Thank you for your astute observation.
Cathy,
Glad that Tweetlater directed me to this video as I was struggling to get the rules to work in Yahoo mail that I usually use for such purposes, and realized that it didn’t look like it could be done and I would have to use my Outlook Express.
They just didn’t go into enough detail about what e-mails work and how to set up a rule especially when you haven’t done one before.
Thanks so much for helping us all out with this as this will make it a lot easier to use Twitter.
Cathy,
Great instructions. I have been seeing your welcome messages and wondered how it was done. So I came over to your blog to find out and as expected you had great directions.
Keep the videos coming.
Amelia
Thanks for the cool tool. The video made it that much easier to set up. It was really simple with gmail too. I was looking for a way to do this. Thanks again!
Hi Cathy,
Totally agree, Great Instructions on Video! I’ve got a question though, are we able to track if the Message has been sent out to the new follower? (or at least to make sure that we set things out correctly)
Yup, I think gmail is easy with the set up. Just in case anyone needed instructions with it..You may follow the steps below
1) Click “Settings” in your gmail – Top right corner
2) Select “Filters” tab
3) “Create New Filter” – if it’s your first time
4) Fill in these in the blanks
From: twitter.com
Subject: is now following you on Twitter
Has the words: is now following you on Twitter
5) Click “Next Step”
6) Tick/Check on the box “Forward it to”
7) Fill in the box (email address) – twitterfollow@tweetlater.com
and Whalla! you are done
Hope that helps for all gmailers!
Also note that you should delete old Twitter notification emails from your email system before setting up the rule. Or else your (already) followers might received it again.
I am new in blogging and just started to learn the things. I hope that this tool will help me in sending thank you notes to new followers.
Thanks.
I use TweetLater to help pace myself. I often have tons I want to share and TL help me to do that at intervals. Really great when you’re going to be away from your computer for a while.
Just discovered your app. Have set it up and scheduled tweets work like a charm.
Now I am waiting for someone new to follow me and test the automatic “thank you” tweet as well.
Great instructional video!
FYI – new emails that notify you of a new Twitter following no longer come from noreply@twitter.com. There is a new email address that is unique based on the email address you signed up to twitter by.
The new email is something like:
twitter-follow-email=domain.com@postmaster.twitter.com
email and domain.com will be different for everyone.
Chipper Dave – Thank you – Yes they changed the address the VERY NIGHT I put up this video. I am finding time to redo the video explaining the correct e-mail address.
Remember the new address. Check your e-mail from twitter and change your rule to reflect that address.
TweetLater is a great app for thanking new followers!
Just set up Tweet later – great to find this video information from Cathy. I like that I can have a few Twitter accounts set up in Tweetlater. I blog and podcast under a few different guises, Wizardgold, Spondicious and Bravachat.
The settings I recommend….
Message – ON
Follow – ON
Digest – OFF
@replies – ON
I also agree with the TweetLater folks….. in that I recommend that you DO NOT MENTION YOUR WEB SITE, nor any free gift, nor ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT YOU DO OR SELL, in your welcome message.
If I ever get a welcome message from anyone which contains the mention of a web site OR an offer of a free gift, I UNFOLLOW A. S. A. P.
Nothing says SPAMMER like mentioning your web site, your business, or offering a free gift….

Cathy I realized my account was set up incorrectly. This helped a bunch. Thanks!

TweetLater is so cool. Thanks for sharing the step-by-step video instruction.
Thanks for the cool video! Twitter has been one of the best additions to my blog and this will only make it more fun and better.
I still haven’t joined the twitter bandwagon yet but I’m getting more tempted after watching this video
