zimmzangKenny Wallace is one of my favorite people.  In case you don’t know him, he is a NASCAR driver in the Nationwide Series, a commentator on Speed TV and all around nice guy.

Like nearly everything, racing at this level is not inexpensive.

Just before Kenny Wallace entered his No. 28 Nationwide Chevrolet at Daytona International Speedway on Feb 13, 2010, @Kenny_Wallace tweeted that he needed $7200.00 for four sets of tires. He needed the tires for the Feb 20 Stater Brothers 300 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA.

…Wallace’s electrifying personality, was too much for Zimmzang CEO Steve Burke, former head of Steve Burke Racing, L.L.C., to pass up.

Just a few hours after Wallace raced to a 16th place finish at Daytona, he received a tweet from @ZimmzangCEO, letting him know that he would look great driving the zimmzang.com car. Burke also suggested in the tweet, that this, “could be the first ever Twitter deal.”

During the Daytona 500 delay for pot-hole repair Kenny and Steve Burke chatted on the phone.  Several days later, Kenny tweeted his thanks to Burke for their sponsorship.  See the photo above of Kenny’s new look.

Zimmzang is a provider of business cards and promotional material.  Check them out!  And thanks to them for the sponsorship.  It couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy than Kenny Wallace and take this to heart – wonderful things are possible when you are on Twitter.  This is not the first success story directly attributable to Twitter.  Keep tweeting – you never know what can happen.

Do you have or know of someone who has a Twitter success story?  If so, leave a comment and let’s talk about it.
