WordPress and Google Analytics - Q&A
Here is a question that was posed on the Google Analytics Teleseminar:
Question - I've noticed with other tracking products that the reports include my visits to my own site, including when I'm making changes to the site. Is there any way to exclude my IP address so my visits don't skew the results?
Answer - You will be counted as 1 unique visitor per reporting period - one day. Your visits and pages will be counted but you can see them in the individual pages visited. They will be listed under /wp-admin/xxxx
So - while you are in the statistics you can subtract 1 from unique visitors and discount the admin visits.

You can also filter out your IP address in GA. It is under set up. I always filter out my IP address and any others that often visit my site. Or if it is for a client I will also filter out there IP address. The best way to get your IP address is to visit http://www.ipchicken.com/
